One of the Oddest and Saddest Things I’ve Learned, Pt. Two

Psychopath con men can make great copy themselves and get academic cred.

Hard to get across nowadays how fervently people vouched for these books. I took a college class where the first volume was taught as no-shitlist truth. And the other sad side-lesson is that universities have never, ever, been repositories of the fad-free truth they like to pretend. They are a superb corrective to know-nothing tyrants, but that’s about the best I can say about them.
