The Tragically Hip — Not Quite a Tragedy, But Really Too Damn Bad

I plugged for the Tragically Hip during the Fully Completely and Day For Night era. And the practical reason they never got the acclaim in the States is that after the live album failed to take off, MCA dropped them and they didn’t have an American label. I’ve also speculated they were too much like Springsteen, that he filled the (rock and) role already. Worth checking out if you have not done so.

PS: D just pointed out that my speculation doesn’t hold up because John Mellencamp. So maybe this amounts to an inexplicable mystery.
