R.I.P.: Rudy Van Gelder

A titan of jazz tech to be celebrated for a long life full of accomplishments. No one will ever follow the same path again. Glad he was around long enough to see jazz rise and fall and rise again until it was a permanent form worldwide. Nobody can be more than the most cursory fan without knowing his work.

My idea of the best testimony?  List of albums recorded in his studio.  (Love the detail that parents’ house was designed with studio in mind.)
