R.I.P. Vera Rubin

An astronomer as great as Copernicus — discovered Dark Matter.

Fascinating that she doubts the universe is consistent everywhere. Makes much sense. I mean, after her discoveries, we know we know as little about matter as we do about time. One explanation for the lack of intelligent-life contact is that we are stuck in some sort of “desert” section of the universe, where faster-than-light travel is impossible.

(Amazing little footnote about The Group.)

More scoop on Dark Matter and Dark Energy.
